Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2025

Please read these terms carefully before using the Books In-Sight Events website or attending our events.

1. About Books In-Sight Events

Books In-Sight Events is an Australian partnership (ABN: 36779492978) founded by C.J. Welles and J.A. Collard. We organise book-related events that connect readers, authors, and the wider book community.

While we work closely with authors who appear at our events, each author is an independent individual and business entity. Books In-Sight Events is not responsible for the personal conduct, business practices, or products of attending authors or vendors.

If you have a concern or complaint regarding an author, we recommend contacting them directly first. If a matter remains unresolved or relates to event conduct, please contact us and we will review the situation fairly.

2. Charitable Donations & Community Support

We proudly highlight and support selected charities and community organisations through our events. This may include raffles, fundraising, or awareness campaigns.

While we collaborate with and donate to these groups, Books In-Sight Events is not affiliated with any charity and does not claim credit for their work or outcomes. Funds raised are clearly identified and directed to the named organisations. Our goal is simply to give back to the community during a fun weekend of books, authors, and love.

3. Ticket Sales & Payments
  • Tickets are sold via TryBooking and are subject to their terms of service.

  • Event anthology sales are managed through Beventi and PayPal.

  • Refunds, exchanges, and payment disputes are handled in accordance with the relevant third-party provider’s policies.

  • Books In-Sight Events is not responsible for transaction issues outside our control.

4. Event Changes & Cancellations

We reserve the right to change event dates, venues, or line-ups if required by unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event of cancellation, information about refunds or credits will be provided via TryBooking and our social media channels. We will do everything within our power to try preventing cancelling (if it ever arises), but as seen during Covid times, sometimes things are out of our control.

5. Conduct at Events

All attendees, authors, vendors, and volunteers are expected to behave respectfully toward staff and guests.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone behaving inappropriately.

6. Intellectual Property

All text, images, logos, and graphics on this website are owned (or we have permission to use) by Books In-Sight Events unless otherwise stated. They may not be reproduced or reused without permission.

7. External Links

Our website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g. TryBooking, Beventi, PayPal, Google Forms). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Books In-Sight Events is not liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from your use of this website or attendance at our events.
