When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets are now available via TryBooking​.

What are the ticket prices?

​​​All-Access Pass – NOW SOLD OUT.

Reader’s Choice – $30 + booking fee

  • Entry from 12:00pm

  • ​BIS Canberra lanyard 

Afternoon Escape – $15 + booking fee

  • Entry from 1:30pm – 4:00pm

  • Perfect for those who want a relaxed morning, and still meet amazing authors

Kids (up to 12 years old) – Free with an accompanying adult ticket holder.

⚠️ Note: this is a romance signing. Some book covers and promo materials may feature 18+ themes. 

Companion Tickets – Free. A valid companion card must be shown on the day or a standard ticket fee will apply.​ Companion ticket-holders are not limited to viewing only.

Are tickets refundable or transferable?
Tickets are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another attendee if you can no longer attend. Please contact us to update the booking name before the event.

What payment methods are available? 

TryBooking accepts major debit/credit cards, PayPal, and Apple/Google Pay.

How quickly do tickets sell out?
All-Access passes are limited to 50 only and usually sell out quickly. We recommend purchasing early to avoid missing out.

🕒 Event Schedule

What time does the event run?
The signing runs from 11:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday, 24th October 2026.

When do VIPs enter?
All-Access ticket holders (VIPs) receive exclusive early access from 11:00am – 12:00pm.
General admission opens at 12:00pm, and Afternoon Escape tickets allow entry from 1:30pm.

Will there be an after-event meet-up?
We often organise an informal dinner or drinks after the signing for attendees and authors. Keep an eye on our Facebook group for updates closer to the event.

👩‍💻 Authors & Vendors

 

Who is attending?
Our line-up of romance authors and vendors can be found here on our website or in our Facebook group. Expect a mix of local, interstate, and international names across contemporary, small-town, dark, MC, and fantasy romance genres.

Will the author lineup change? 

We have confirmed with all authors about their attendance, but unfortunately sometimes circumstances can change. If any author has to cancel, we will post an update, and a new author will be announced once they confirm their spot.

Will there be pre-orders?
Yes! Some author pre-order links are available now. Each author will provide their own order form which will be linked on our website. You can also go to Beventi where a lot of authors create pre-order forms through the platform. If you follow the signing on there, you will receive updates when more pre-orders are added, and also reminders when pre-orders are closing soon.

Can I bring my own books?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring previously purchased books to be signed. Some authors will also have stock available to buy on the day.

Will authors accept card payments?
Most authors and vendors will have EFTPOS or PayID available, but bringing some cash is always a good idea.

Is there accommodation available?
Yes! We’ve arranged a discount rate for attendees staying at the Rex Hotel.

There are four rates that will become available via the link:

  • Event Accommodation Rate with Breakfast (15% off Daily Flexible Rate + breakfast, flexible CXL)

  • Event Early Bird Rate (25% off Daily Flexible Rate, non-refundable, book at least 30 days out)

  • Event Early Bird Rate with Breakfast (25% off Daily Flexible Rate + breakfast, non-refundable, book at least 30 days out)

 

Rooms will be available to book through the regular pool, so the only limit is the hotels standard availability. We recommend to book as early as possible to ensure you get the room you want.

Is food and drink available?
Yes. The hotel offers an on-site restaurant and bar, plus nearby cafes and eateries within walking distance. We will also have water stations in the event room.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the Rex Hotel and signing area are fully accessible. Companion tickets are also available, but please bring a valid Companion Card. If you have any questions about accessibility, please contact us via email.

🚗 Transport & Parking

 

Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, the Rex Hotel offers limited on-site parking for guests and attendees, with additional paid and street parking nearby.

How do I get there via public transport?
The Rex Hotel sits along the Canberra Light Rail line. The Ipima Street Stop is only a short walk away.

Local ACTION buses also stop along Northbourne Avenue.

 

How far is it from the airport?
Canberra Airport is about a 15-minute drive from the Rex Hotel (approximately 8km). Taxis and rideshares are readily available.

What’s nearby the Rex Hotel?
The hotel is conveniently located in Braddon, one of Canberra’s most vibrant inner suburbs which is known for its cafés, restaurants, and boutique stores.

  • ☕ Lonsdale Street – A few minutes’ walk away, filled with trendy cafés and eateries.

  • 🏛️ Canberra City Centre – Just a short walk or light rail ride to major shops and attractions.

  • 🌿 Glebe Park – A lovely nearby spot for a stroll or picnic.

  • 🖼️ National Gallery of Australia and Australian War Memorial – Both less than 10 minutes’ drive from the venue.

  • 🛍️ Canberra Centre – The city’s main shopping precinct, 1km away.

 

Can I make a weekend of it?
Absolutely! Many attendees choose to stay a few days to explore Canberra’s museums, Lake Burley Griffin, and national attractions.

💬 General Info

 

Is this event suitable for all ages?
Yes, however, this is a romance author signing. While there will be no nudity or explicit displays, some book covers and promotional materials may include 18+ content. Parental discretion is advised.

How can I be kept up-to-date on event information?

We will post further event information in our Facebook group as it becomes available. Closer to the date, we will have an attendee information package which will be emailed to all ticket holders.

Can I volunteer?
Yes! We’re always looking for friendly volunteers to help during the event. Volunteer Expression of Interest forms are available on our website.

Will there be merchandise available?
Yes, official Books In-Sight merchandise and exclusive bookish goodies will be available to purchase on the day. We will have a pre-order form available soon. We will also have an anthology again in 2026. Further details and pre-order will also be available soon​.
